ISPS HANDA Gatsu-n to tobase Tour tournament 2021

Yuta Uketake couldn't pull through even with 5 shot lead and victory slipped through his fingers

When Yuta Uketake's lost was determined, Hideto Tanihara was holding his shoulders to cheer him up from the sorrow.
"Hideto told me I should calm down a bit more and there will be my chance again. So, I am telling myself if I could learn from this experience, I could become stronger."

5th year professional Yuta Uketake's chance for the 1st Tour victory was again put on hold, but he was still trying to be optimistic.

Yuta had 5 shot margin against the 2T players, and he also started out well. His 3rd shot on Par 5 2nd almost went in, and he had tap-in birdie to from the beginning. He was having good lead on his front nine, but as he made the turn, Tomoyo Ikemura was breathing behind his back.
"I noticed on 15th, when I saw the leader board that Tomoyo is catching up."

Soon after, Yuki made 2 bogeys in a row and gave away the lead.
"I tried not to think about pressure, but as got into the back nine, I just couldn't shake the pressure. I really wanted to win, but I still lack experience."
It was Yuta's first challenge to play on the final group on the final round.

Yuta and Tomoyo are really good buddies and same grade.
"I am regretful that he won before me, but it all because he played so well. I want to congratulate him. I must work harder and prepare myself to win soon."
