ISPS HANDA Gatsu-n to tobase Tour tournament 2021

9th year professional Tomoyo Ikemura makes dramatic come from behind victory to grab his 1st win

Tomoyo Ikemura has finally accomplished to win his first Tour victory. It has been 9 years since he turned professional at age of 18.

He started out from 2T, 5 shots behind the leader. He has done a great chase by making astonishing 4 straight birdies from 11th. After he caught up with the leader Yuta Uketake, he went on making back-to-back birdies on 16th and 17th and became the leader by 2 shots.

On final 18th, he had 1-meter putt to save par.
"I never felt that nervous in my life."
But he safely made the putt and secured his club house leader position with total 17 under.

Tomoyo waited for the Yuta Uketake in the final group to make his move, but it all ended as Yuta's 3rd shot landed on the green and narrow chance of making chip-in eagle was gone.

Tomoyo was congratulated by fellow players by the club house. But most impressive words came out from his caddy saying, "it was such a long road but congratulations for your 1st victory".

"I was having serious swinging problem on my first half of this season, and my caddy was always besides me and cheered me on. I cannot thank her enough for her support."
