Tomoyo Ikemura scoops away the victory nevertheless of 5 shot deficit with his colorful talents

Tomoyo Ikemura's 1st Tour victory was accomplished by magnificent come from behind win. He has finally grabbed his victory after 9 years, since he turned professional back at age of 18. He has many potentials and was wondered by fellow players why he hasn't won yet. Same Kagoshima Prefecture born buddy, Yuki Inamori says, "He has great distance and so many other technics. He has so many magic shots under his sleeves, and I envy him".

His club settings are 1W, then on to 2I to 9I and 4 wedges, so no FW in his bag. So, he hits 1W on from the fairways instead of 3W. He sometimes does not tee up his 1W on the teeing grounds, to control his distance. He didn't tee up on 4th, 8th, and 10th holes today.
"I choose not to use the tee since it will allow me to avoid pulling the shot. When I tee up, my 1W is about 300 yards, and when I don't tee up, it's about 280-290."

As for 250-280, he hits with his 2I. He is so much talented in controlling long clubs. He has such a talent, but it took him 9 years to accomplish his first victory. Yuki Inamori says he was worried today too.
"I didn't know how he was playing today, but he always gives up so soon. That is his weak point."

Tomoyo also admits his weakness is giving up so easily.
"When I make mistake on important holes, I tend to get upset and give up. I knew I must change this negative mind."

Today, he was able to hang in with tough mind, even he started off with a 3-putt bogey on Par 3 5th. He stayed calm and waited for his chance. But when he failed to make 2-meter birdie chance on 10th, his negative thought started to haunt him again. But with warm and encouraging support from his caddy, Ms. Sakaguchi, he was able to make 1-meter birdie putt on 11th and went on making 3 more for 4 consecutive birdies. Soon after, he was on the roll, and made back-to-back birdies on 16th and 17th to take away the outright lead. Eventually Tomoyo won with 2 shots lead with total of 17 under and cried on his caddy's shoulder after his win was determined.

At the winner's ceremony, he was praised again by many of his fellow players.
