ISPS HANDA Gatsu-n to tobase Tour tournament 2021

Players' Chairman Ryuko Tokimatsu getting his confidence back & the keyword is "don't think, feel"

"What is so different between yesterday and today?"
Ryuko Tokimatsu himself hasn't figure out what went so well. But one thing he could came up with was "golf is a mental game".

"I have been playing okay. Nothing seems to have changed but somehow it resulted well today."
As he stated, he missed the cutline 3 tournaments in a row since July's Japan PGA Championship, and he still is struggling from September and on.

He did start off with Even par and at 40T on his 1R this week. He felt as if it will become another dreadful week. But during his practice after the round, he came up with an idea, "don't think, feel".

This became a magic word to him and led to 7 birdies and a bogey round of 65 on his 2R. Now he is 2 shots behind the leader at 4T.

"I was able to keep my ball in the middle of the fairways and got the ball on the green as I aimed. I also didn't have any troubles on my putting. I was able to perform my ideal golf, which I was away from for few months."

Just 1 day of mind shift gave him a big change on his golf.
"To be honest, I don't know what worked, so I am still very anxious. But until now I wasn't able to perform the golf which I was able to do on the practice but not on the course, so I think it is all mental."

As for being Players' Chairman, he was so pleased that JGTO Chairman and legendary player Isao Aoki praised him along with Ryo Ishikawa and Yuta Ikeda for doing a great job as Players Committee.
"I believe we are the supporting body, but it is always nice to be recognized. I am trying to collect more sponsors for the Tour in my off times with help from my senior professionals. I would like to contribute as much as I could."

His 2 years term is ending soon. His best wish is to become 7th Players' Chairman to win during the term, following what Ryo Ishikawa did back in 2019.
