SMBC Singapore Open 2022

All set for a swinging good time in Singapore

The stage has been set for another thrilling week as the SMBC Singapore Open makes its

return to the award-winning Sentosa Golf Club this week.

After a hiatus in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SMBC Singapore Open will be the first event of 2022 for JGTO members.

The top JGTO stars who have graced the tournament in recent years have certainly showed they have what it takes to give the world’s biggest names a run for their money.

Among them was Song Younghan of South Korea who prevailed in a thrilling battle with then world number one Jordan Spieth to win by one shot.

Thai veteran Prayad Marksaeng would go on to be the next JGTO player to be crowned the 2017 champion, while Satoshi Kodaira and Yoshinori Fujimoto too had their narrow misses by coming in joint runner-up in the 2018 and 2019 editions respectively.

Yosuke Asaji, winner on the JGTO during the 2020-2021 season will spearhead a formidable JGTO contingent into this week's battle.

World number 182 Asaji will be joined by 29 other JGTO members seeking to pose a serious threat to England's Paul Casey's bid of winning the SMBC Singapore Open after coming close with a joint-second place finish in the 2019 edition.

Expect another pulsating battle on the cards!
