5th Amateur to win the professional tournament Keita Nakajima becomes couldn't stop crying with joy

World's No.1 Amateur, Keita Nakajima, a junior at Nippon Taiku University successed in winning the playoff against 13th year professional Ryutaro Nagano, in 1 extra hole.
When he faced the birdie chance he thought, "if this was Takumi Kanaya, he will definitely make it."
Unfortunately, the birdie putt didn't become the winning putt, but he made short par saving putt to win.
"I could hear my heartbeat. I was really nervous."

Right after the wining putt, he looked calm, not making fist pump and jumping around in joy. Then he was greeted by many professionals with celebrating water shower.
"I am an amateur and still a college student. I am grateful for having the chance to play on the professional tournament."
As he was sending his words of gratitude, tears kept on falling and wetting his towel.

Keita cried when he lost the Gold Medal in 2018 Asian Championship, also at US Amateur as he scored 80 on R1 and missed the cut.
"I also cried when Takumi turned Pro, because I felt lonely."
He is known to be sentimental, but his mentality on golf is very tough. He made an oath to his National Team's coach that he will swing 1W on 14 holes, this is to get ready for Asian Amateur Championship in November. With heavy rain and gusty wind, his tee shots lost accuracy and he felt like taking his words back.
"But I told myself, I should not run away from what I promised. I won't be happy with a birdie if I take safe way to do so."

Joyo CC has very narrow fairways and many OB zone on both sides. His driving accuracy was down to 68th, but he kept on swinging his 1W and stood by his words. This mental toughness gave him the 5th Amateur victory title following the footsteps of Massy Kuramoto, Ryo Ishikawa, Hideki Matsuyama and Takumi Kanaya.

"I want to thank my family and many that supports me back home, my teammates and coach on my college. I really enjoy playing golf with them. I have been crying in regrets lately, so I am so happy to be shedding tears in joy."

He could turn professional and earn his Tour Card right away, but he will remain an amateur so that he will be invited to US Open and The Open with the privileges of being World's No.1 Amateur. Also, if he wins Asian Amateur Championship in November, he will be invited to The Masters.
"My goal is to become a player show will be cheered by many fans all over the world."
