Panasonic Open Golf Championship 2021

Ryosuke Kinishita accomplishes his 1st No.1 Money Ranker position but undecisive of his future

8th year professional Ryosuke Kinoshita has entered this week's Panasonic Open at No.2 position on the Money Rankings but moved up to the 1st place with his 8T finish and replaced Rikuya Hoshino.

Ryosuke started out his Final Round at 7T, 3 shots behind the co-leaders. He has tough time with the heavy rain and gusty wind, had to settle with 3 birdies and 2 bogeys to score 71. Not enough to catch up to the leaders and finished 5 shots behind.
"I wasn't not even close today. I still lack a lot. I am disappointed. My putts didn't go in and my shots started to lose the accuracy from yesterday."

So, he is not 100% happy about becoming No.1 Money Ranker with such a result. Also, he is indecisive of his future, as to go for his dream to become the Order of Merit Champion or go challenge abroad like Ryo Ishikawa announced on Monday.

Ryosuke was asking for advice to many of the players he looks up to. But the advice he received from Hideto Tanihara meant most to him.
"Hideto told me I should go to US. That is the best way to approve my golf. He has been playing on EPGA Tour, so his words are so convincing. I am leaning toward challenging abroad."

But if he accomplishes to become the Order of Merit Champion, he will be able to follow the footsteps of Toru Taniguchi who became the Order of Merit Champion twice (2002 & 2007), as they are both from same Nara City.
"Oh, that is too much honor for me. But if I do make that dream come true, he might give me better recognition. I might be able to say, I will take his place as representative of Nara City."

Limit to submit for the Final QT of US PGA cub-tour is on October 12th.
"I will think hard until the last minute. I don't think I would be beaten down in US, with the performance I did today, so I will go on and practice a lot more."
