Japan PGA Championship 2021

Toru Taniguchi makes Hole-in-One at the Pro-Am of Japan PGA Championship

Toru Taniguchi, who is playing competitively both on Regular and Senior Tours has made hole-in-one on the Pro-Am Wednesday at Nikko CC.

He started from inward holes, and he almost made a hole-in-one on 235 yards 12th Par 3. But the real hole-in-one came on 225 yards 16th, where his shot by 2U was "perfect" as Toru recalled and went in.
"It was downwind, but I shot great."

He was so proud of himself, but then at the same time disappointed.
"If I had done this on Sunday, I was given 4,000,000-yen worth 18 carat gold putter. I was too early to make it."

But Toru is very enthusiastic about this week and is convinced that he will win because of the "pattern" he found out.
"In 1st week of June, Ryosuke won, then on 2nd week I won on the Senior Tour, and last week it was Ryosuke again. So, I believe this week will be my turn."

In 2018, Toru has won his 3rd Japan PGA Championship. This week he is eagerly aiming for the 4th.
