Fujisankei Classic 2021

Ryuichi Oiwa received the best score of the tournament with marvelous 64 performance on FR

Ryuichi Oiwa on his 4th appearance at the Fuji Sankei Classic marked marvelous score of 64 to receive the FUjizakura Award, an award given to the best score of the week.
"I was able to mark once in a lifetime score today. This 64 is my best score on Fujizakura CC."

2 nd shot from 260 yards on Par 5 3rd was "perfect", recalled Ryuichi, which ended with 3-meter chance for an eagle, and he succeeded draining it too. With that eagle, 7 birdies and 2 bogeys were the ingredients of score 64.
"I did make 7 birdies, but I also plunged in the water on 16th, which was my 2nd water hazard this week, so I have my share of troubles too. I was caught up in many of Fujizakura's traps and scored double bogey and even triple bogey."

But his effort paid off and received the 300,000-yen prize money for Fujizakura Award.
"I am not sure what I should spend this for yet."

This Fuji Sankei Classis is the first professional tournament that Ryuichi challenged back in his senior year in high school. He made through the Monday QT and moved on to the tournament.
"I have good memories here and I feel some attachment to this tournament."

Ryuichi seems to have found the secret of conquering this monster course now, so many be nest time he will walk away with bigger purse.
