Fujisankei Classic 2021

Mr. & Mrs. Vincent again on good route toward back-to-back victory at Fujizakura CC

Scott and Kelsey on good route to V2
Love birds flew from Fukuoka to foot of Mt. Fuji and kept their momentum. Last week's winner, Scott Vincent has made a great opening round at Fujizakura CC with his lovely and trustworthy wife on his bag. They have a great chance for winning 2 weeks in a row.

It rained from the morning at Fujizakura CC. Scott who started from 10th tee faced trouble at 11th. Then on 12th, "I missed my 2nd shot", recalled Scott and had to suffer for 2 straight bogeys.
"But I told myself there are many more holes to play. I should shift my mind and start over."

This optimistic mind set helped and he took away 6 birdies from that moment on and finished at 4 under. He became provisional Top tie, as 1R was suspended due to thick fog.
"I kind of stumbled at first, but after that I played perfect."

After winning his 1st Tour victory last week, Scott and Kelsey cerebrated their success with Kelsey's favorite Shabu Shabu dinner on Sunday. They moved to Yamanashi Prefecture on Monday, and they had Yakiniku to gain stamina.
"We get up early in the morning every day", said Scott. It seems like both of them are already set for another tough week with no problem.

Scott has earned his Tour Card since 2019, but due to pandemic, he wasn't able to join Fuji Sankei Classic last year, so this week is his first appearance to this event. Fujizakura CC is known for its monstrous length, but also famous for the beautiful Mt. Fuji scenery.
"It is magnificent view. It is beautiful. We love the scenery."

Scott has the chance to make back-to-back victory this week, but he says, "I want to concentrate on each and every shot".
While we were speaking Kelsey placed an umbrella over Scott.
When she was asked what she would expect, she replied, "Me? I just want Scott to do his best and I will appreciate that."
"That is the perfect answer", smiled Scott.
Mr. & Mrs. Vincent are "hot" again this week, both on and off the course.
