The Crowns 2021

2 consecutive seasons' Order of Merit title holder Shugo Imahira shifting gear up for The Crowns

2 consecutive seasons' Order of Merit title holder Shugo Imahira is enjoying the taste of Wago, which all missed last year due to cancellation by pandemic. During the Wednesday's ProAm games, Shugo had Curry Kishimen (flat noodles, a Aichi Prefecture's delicacies), which is popular dish at Nagoya Golf Club Wago Course.

"It tastes good, I missed this. Opps!"
He splashed curry sauce on his shirt, it stains. He was a bit depressed about his stain, but he was humble and went on taking photos on the tee boxes as it is known to have Nagoya's landmarks as the tee markers, such as Nagoya Castle and Shchihoko (godly fish like figure plated gold).

"I haven't been able to update my Instagram's, but these tee markers are unique to this tournament, so I took them."

Shugo is shy and doesn't express his feeling much, but today he seemed to be in happy mode since this was Wago after 2 years' absence
"I really like this tournament. The Crowns give me great feelings and makes me motivated."

When asked about the World Rankings, he spoke quickly, very rare for Shugo.
"I know that Rikuya surpassed me. Now I am 4th for the Japanese players. I must push myself to do better."

For Shugo's last 3 appearances, he has finished 5th in 2017, 6T in 2018, and runner-up in 2019.
"I will push myself and aim for the victory this week."
