The Crowns 2021

Congrats to Hiroshi Iwata for his long waited V3

"My head is having a panic thinking about the winning speech I have to make after this."
This was the first words which came out right after his found out he has won.

When that victory speech started, he was looking at his notes, but still mumbling.
"This is my 3rd time to do this, but still I can't get used to this. Please bear with me with kind patience."

Hiroshi doesn't show his emotions, but he is actually really happy to accomplish his victory, which he had to wait for 6 years.
"I thought I might shed tears, since it has been long time from the last win. But I am happy ane excited now", said Hiroshi without even making a smile.

"My parents are from this Aichi Prefecture and I have many relatives here. I am grateful to have won at this historically valued tournament."

Hiroshi started out at 7T, 2 shots behind the co-leaders and shot magnificent 63 on gusty wind condition. He made 2 straight birdies on his starting holes to catch up with the leaders, then he went on to making another back-to-back birdies on 4 & 5. His iron shots were so hot that it literary sticked to the pins. Most of his 7 birdies putts were within 2-meters.
"When I got to 17th and saw I had 3 shots lead got me really nervous."
But from outside, no one noticed that he was nervous, as he played on without not changing his face expressions.

Last December at JT Cup, he lost by making mistake on last 2 holes.
"I lost because I failed. I regret it too much and I couldn't sleep for few weeks. I have turned 40, and I want to be like Hiroyuki Fujita and Vijay Singh and make multiple victories even after 40."

Hideki Matsuyama's victory at The Masters also motivated him.
"I watched it live, so excited and I got exhausted. Hideki is most definitely the best Japanese player ever, and if he couldn't win, no Japanese can. I am so grateful that his victory has opened a heavy doors for us. I found out that even Hideki was under a coach and I saw that coach's lesson on YouTube, it helped me a lot, but I won't tell you what it was."

It has been 10 years from the devastating earthquake which destroyed his hometown, he stood at the golf course looking down upon the sea and prayed.
"We must not forget, but we must move on. I want to be able to win more and see everyone smile. As of now, spectators are not allowed, but I want to give fans excitement through TV."
