The Crowns 2021

Tadahiro Takayama who is on the bubble for keeping his status has the chance for comeback V

Depressiong countdown is haunting Tadahiro Takayama, but he has the chance to overcome it by winning this week. Tadahiro sits as one of the 5-way tie as co-leaders after his 2nd Round at Wago. On his 21st year as a Pro and standing on the thin ice for achieving his Tour seed challenge, he is fighting very well on tough but very familiar course.

He made double bogey with trouble on 11th as his ball way buried in the bunker sand. But he managed to bounce back with a chip-in on 12th and made 2 straight birdies on 17th and 18th to finish at 7 under total. Tadahiro jumped up as one of the 5 players on the leader board.

Tadahiro had to step out from the Tour in the summer of 2018 with a disease in his eyes. He has gone under surgery and after 6 months of rehabilitation, he came back to the Tour at Fuji Sankei Classic last September.

He has received special credit guarantee, which allowed him the exemption to 9 tournaments. He has used 6 tournaments up until last week's Kansai Open, and he failed to make the cut in 4 of them.

Now he has 3 more tournament chances including this week's The Crowns. He needs to make 5,000,000-yen in remaining 3 tournaments in order to get over the 2018 season prize money seed boarder line (14,748,289-yen = 69th)

"When I start to calculate things, I know things are getting tough for me. But I must concentrate on 1 shot at the time to build up for my future. With the help from the technology given by my gears, I am still able to battle against the star players. I have 21 years of experience and I will get every possible technics I have to get that victory closer to me. If I get a break, I might win. I moved to Atami, where my wife's parents live, but I lived here in Nagoya for 25 years since I was 18 and I know many fans are cheering for me. I hope I could give them back for their support by winning tomorrow."
