Yuki Inamori overcomes his weak point against 13th Hole and moved up the ladder to solo 3rd

Negative feeling haunts you, even for aka Mr. Accuracy, Yuki Inamori. But he managed to overcome that weak point and scored 66 for 3R with bogey free performance.

Yuki has bad memory on the 13th hole. It started on his appearance back in 2015. He was in the same group with Jumbo Ozaki. For a 20-year-old, playing along with the legend was more than he could handle. On the 2R, his tee shot went way right to OB zone.
"I believe that OB on tee shot is the only one I made on the Tour. It was the first one and so far last one."

Of course, he has made OB on his other shots, but that is the only OB on his tee shot.
"I must have been under big pressure playing with Jumbo. I bogeyed that hole, but Jumbo encouraged me by saying there are still few more holes left, just make as many birdies as you can. Thanks to his encouragement, I was able to make multiple birdies to make the cut. I remember Jumbo praising me for the good effort."

Since then, Yuki has been telling himself to avoid going right on that 13th hole.
"I don't care if I yank it to left or end up in the deep roughs, I want to stay on the left side."

Today, he was on the left side roughs, but from there he gave himself a 3-meter birdie chance and also makes it to build up his score to total 13 under. 5 shots behind the leader at solo 3rd.

As many of the Hokkaido Prefecture courses are known for, the fairways are very wide, but this course suites big drivers.
"I am not a big hitter, so I need to use longer clubs on my 2nd shots. There are many holes which require really good accuracy. Every year, I feel that this course is becoming difficult for me. But I know I shouldn't have negative mind about the course, so I try to be positive. I don't want to push myself too much so, my plan is to save par on every hole. And if I get myself a chance, I will depend on my putting for birdies."

Yuki lost by 1 shot back in July at Japan PGA Championship, but now he has the chance for making his 2nd victory following the 2020 Japan Open.
"Tomorrow is another day. I want to be able to play with no regrets."
