Kunihiro Kamii making come back from injury is very satisfied with a 2T finish

16th year veteran professional Kunihiro Kamii is making a great come back from his injury by scoring bogey free 66, 1 shot behind the leader on 1R at Sega Sammy Cup.

"I have been working with my coach on my attack angles and club face rotation. Also, I got secret tips on putting from Hiroshi Iwata and with that I can putt good strokes and get better on distance control."

He withdrew from Japan PGA Championship with knee injury in July. He could barely walk and stopped by 4th hole on Day 1. He was diagnosed with very severe injury.
"Ligament on my knee got too swollen and disconnected my knee cap. It made a weird sound when I walked and back of my knee was hurting so much. I couldn't stand on that leg alone. I couldn't practice nor do any training, so I felt really insecure."

He took time to heal, then he made a great come back by winning at local tournament, Chubu Open held on July 13 to 15, by surviving through 4 extra holes.

"That victory felt really good."
This confidence gave him a boost for another good start this week.

"I still had some anxiety on my first few holes, but my game got better afterward as the wind started to pick up."

Kunihiro has never won on the Tour yet, but he is seeking to make the Tour Seed he lost in 2019.
"My game seems to be well, so I am looking forward."
