He totaled to 11 under to become co-leader going onto the weekends.
"It was all up to my putting today, my shots didn't help me to give me easy chances, but I was able to make long putts. I was not so stable with my shots, so I chose to play safe hitting it to the center of the green and avoid misses. My putting helped me, and I was able to play without any stress today."

Kazuki spent 6 weeks of summer break entering local tournaments and events. He also had plenty of time to enjoy watching the Olympics. Karate, originally from his home Okinawa Prefecture, and Kazuki learned to perform during his gymnastic classes in junior high school.
"Ryo Kiyuna is famous, and I knew the names of the Kata that he performed. I was amazed to hear that he became the first Gold Medalist from Okinawa Prefecture. I thought some one had done it already. I was so excited to see him win the Gold Medal."

Kazuki was also overwhelmed to see his university senior, Hideki Matsuyama fight so hard on the playoffs.
"Hideki had just gone better from COVID and it was deadly hot during those 4 days, so I can't imagine how tough it was. I bet he really is disappointed that he couldn't achieve to win the medal, but I admire him still."

Kazuki was also amazed by the winning score marked by Xander Schauffele. Kazuki has played at Kasumigaseki after the renovation.
"I can't imagine how he could play there making 18 under. The wall between me and the World top class players are still so high. I will aim to become the representative for the Paris Olympics, but before that, I must play abroad and gain more experience. It is difficult to go abroad in these circumstances, but I will take any chance I could get. 3 years will pass by so quickly, so I must do whatever it takes."

Next week, Kazuki will be a year belated Defending Champion for the tournament which has a new name as Sansan KBC Augusta.
"My main target is next week, but I would like to play well this week and get all warmed up to defend my title next week."
