Kansai Open Golf Championship 2021

Tomoyo Ikemura an 8-year Pro well-controlled his anger to grab co-leader position after R1

Tomoyo Ikemura had a very frustrating start. He started on the Par 5 535 yards 10th hole, where he got himself to 5-meter eagle chance.
"But my first putt was 1-meter shot on uphill line, then I missed the birdie putt too, and ended up 3 putting for par. I was furious and shocked. I really felt like quitting at that moment. I was even joking that I should ask my caddy to bring me my car to 11th tee since it's close to the exit."

But 8th year on the Tour managed to get his temper under control.
"Actually, only mistake I made was that 3 putt. Other than that hole, I was on a good rhythm and played well."
As he said, he made 5-meter on 11th to get back on his feet, went on making 5 more with no bogeys to score 65.
"I was able to get some advantages. I want to praise myself for a good work done."

Tomoyo is from Kagoshima Prefecture. He started to play golf at 10, learned from JLPGA Tour star Sakura Yokomine's father. He has gained many tips from Sakura herself too. He has also changed his putting grip to arm lock style since last week and it seems to e working great on the greens.
"I really want to win this year."

He has his mind set for his first victory on this long term 20-21 season to make it come true.
