Casio World Open Golf Tournament 2021

Race for Order of Merit Champion was not decided this week, will be postponed to the final week

Takumi Kanaya, who was aiming to win this week and overtake the Top position on the Money Ranking could not come through with his wish. He finished as 4T and his position on the Money Rankings stays at 3rd.

"I can't find words to say. I am sorry."

He was really disappointed after the round and couldn't comment for a while.

Takumi made 5 birdies, trying to catch up to the leader, Mikumu Horikawa. He was 2 shots behind the leader at 17th and had 1.5-meter birdie chance. But he couldn't make it. On final 18th, his tee shot went left and his 2 nd shot missed the green to the right-side roughs. He couldn't make eagle chance and even failed to make the birdie putt.

Takumi's eyes were watery.

"I wanted to make eagles and birdies. But result is the result."

This is all he could say. But his chance for the Order of Merit title is not over yet.

Current No.1 Money Ranker Chan Kim finished as 45th this week. Earning difference between No.1 Chan Kim and No.3 Takumi Kanaya is 16,446,606-yen. If he wins next week at the JT Cup, he has the chance to overtake the Top position and Order of Merit Champion title.

Same is said for No.4 Rikuya Hoshino, and Yuki Inamori.

As for Ryosuke Kinoshita, who missed the cutline this week and still stays as No.2 on the Money Rankings. He will be able to overtake Chan Kim, if he finishes better than solo 2nd.
