Only wish left is "a victory", Tomohiro Ishizaka makes his first ever hole-in-one on the Taiheiyo




Student/professional player Tomohiro Ishizaka's rookie year gained another high light today by making his first ever hole-in-one. It happened on Par 3 13th, with 6I on 187 yards tee shot.

"It was blowing strong from right side, so I decided to bang my shot to it. Actually, the shot wasn't that great, but it bounced well toward the hole."

 

Thanks for having the spectators this week, crowd shouted, "it went in!" and made big applause. He did make a hole-in-one on his provisional shot during National high school championship game.

"But my first tee shot was found at the back of the green, so that hole-in-one became unofficial. So, this is my first ever hole-in-one and I am very happy."

 

Hole-in-one prize of 100,000-yen VISA gift card was given and Tomohiro said, "I will give it to my parents."

 

BTY, on weekends, 3-million-yen worth of VISA gift card will be given to all who succeeds the hole-in-one at 230 yards Par 3 17th.

 

Having really gusty wind today, he did suffer a double bogey on 11th.

"It was tough condition and I played too safely. I was able to play aggressively on my back nine and played that half with 1 under."

 

Overall, he finished his 1R with 1 over par at 25T. Tomohiro turned professional in September last year. He has made 7 top 10 finishes including 2 runner-ups, one of the was just last week at Mynavi ABC Championship. So only goal he hasn't accomplished yet is, a most wanted victory.
