Rookie Tomohiro Ishizaka another 2T finish, deeply regrets his performance on Sunday back nine

Still a university student and Tour rookie since September last year, Tomohiro Ishizaka challenged his 4th chance to battle on the final groupings on final round, and again he couldn't win.

22 years old Tomohiro Ishizaka started out as 1T but lost by 2 shots. Another regertful runner-up finish following the one back in Dunlop Phoenix last year as he lost to Takumi Kanaya in the playoffs.

He started off as co-leaders with Mikumu Horikawa and on his starting hole, his 3rd shot attacked the pin for easy birdie to take the lead. He made 2 bogeys on 2nd and 3rd holes but drained 7-meter on the 5th and 3-meter on 7th to stay in the contention.

"My caddy was my junior from the university, and he kept me relaxed. I wasn't being too aggressive and even I made mistakes, I was handling it with patience in my front nine."

But his back nine was unsatisfactory for Tomohiro as he finished the 9 holes with all par play. He saved well on 14th by making 5-meter. He saved another tough one on 15th as he failed to get it close from the sand. He also made great par save on 17th, even his tee shot went way left by making 3-meter.

"I am proud that I was able to make those critical putts, but still, you must make charge on the Sunday back nine, but I couldn't today."

Tomohiro was astonished to see Yosuke Asaji made a splendid shot going over the tree lines on 17th.

"That is definitely a super shot. I never thought he would take chance going over the trees. I have recognized again by seeing the winner play so perfectly. Winning is not about the rivalry, it is how I think my strategy and battle the course."
