360yds big drive on 15 th,19 years old new face Ryo Hisatune shows off his power

A new player moved up to the Regular Tour this week, 19 years old Ryo Hisatune, and he has made a big introduction by showing off his driving distance power and many other talents. He played 3R with 5 under 66 and moved up the ladder to 8T with total of 8 under, 4 strokes behind the leader Chan Kim.

He was playing powerfully and wisely in the windy Miyoshi CC. He had to hit provisional on 3rd, buried his ball in the bunker on 5th, and pulled his shot into the left side trees on 14th, but all was saved by his putting, and he finished his round bogey free.

"I was born as long hitter, so distance is may advantage."
Even on this narrow fairways of Miyoshi CC, he kept on using his 1W.
"I am not good with laying up, so I chose 1W. It's not that I am playing so aggressive, but I could only fight with 1W for now. I believe there are big merit for me to use 1W on this course."

Ryo have played with on of the twins, Rasmus Hojgaard, who won the 2021 Omega European Masters, in a tournament abroad during his high school days.
"I was so surprised to see him hit longer with his 3W than my 1W. I found out there are many great players like him all over the world. Since then, I have been going after making my distance longer."

Ryo played on the cub-tour, AbemaTV Tour for the first time this season, and already made 3 victories. Under regulations made in 2007, he was allowed to move up to the Regular Tour from this week.

After 3R, he also had another chance to show off his driving distance skills.
"I was all pumped up. I have been preparing for this Driving Contest."

He was the 5th player to perform. Every player gets 2 challenges, and his 1st shot was no good since it went over the ropes. His 2nd challenge was measured as 391 yards, and he resulted 4th out of 9 players.
"Too bad. But I enjoyed it a lot. As for the tournament, I think if I could stay within 5 strokes to the leader, I think I would have a chance tomorrow."
Ryo is 4 shots behind, Chan Kim. If he wins, he will become the 2nd youngest winner at 19 years and 24 days, following Ryo Ishikawa.
