Japan Open Golf Championship 2021

Mr. Accuracy Yuki Inamori pledges to defend his Champion Title and make 3-peat at Japan Open

A road of victory is set at the entrance of practice range, which has big billboards with past winners' photos. Yuki Inamori appeared in between 2 billboards of his victorious photos. He is the winner of 2018 and 2020.
"I would like to have multiple boards lines up here. My goal for this week is to add another one right nest to mine."

Defending Champion seems to have good feelings on this year's venue, Biwako CC. The total yardage is only 6986. Japan Open Golf Championship is known to have tough stage set for the players, but Yuki says, "this year it will become birdie rushes, and many will be shooting in red numbers. I think the winning score will surely be double digit under par".

But the course settings by JGA is well planned and has so many traps. There are blind spots on the pin positions, and roughs around the greens are interlocked and difficult to release the club head. Many of the roughs around the water and sand hazards are shallow cut so that ball will easily roll in.

Yuki Inamori holds, No.1 position in Driving Accuracy for 6 consecutive years.
"My strategy is always same in any course. You must keep the fairway, don't make careless mistake and get caught in the roughs. I try to avoid the roughs as much as possible, because in any course, it is much easier to aim to the pin from the fairways."

Yuki will be in the groupings with World No.1 Amateur, Keita Nakajima and the Olympian Rikuya Hoshino.
"I am the oldest among the 3, that is quite rare for me."
"Both are long hitters so, I will be hitting the 2nd shot first probably every time. But even I will e hitting the furthest, I want make the shot so precise and pressure on other two."

Yuki has 2 Tour victories, and both are Japan Open.
"I was asked that I only care about the Japan Open, but that is not a fact, I am always trying to win in every tournament. But there is something so special at national open. If you win it will give you tremendous confidence and also a route to British Open as well. This tournament offers a ticket to the world stage, so I really want to win again."

If he accomplishes, he will become the 6th player to have won the Japan Open 3 times.
