Ryo Ishikawa not satisfied with 2nd place and wants to push himself even harder to be better

Ryo Ishikawa was 2 shots behind leader Scott Vincent when he reached the final 18th. He shot his 2nd from the right-side edge of the green was making a beautiful line towards the cup for eagle, but it stopped just a ball short.

"One more roll, then it would have been a perfect ending."
Ryo couldn't make the chip-in eagle and settle for birdie. He played with 6 birdies and a bogey to score 67. Totaled to 16 under, at that moment he was the club house leader.

When Ryo entered the scoring tent, crowd made big sigh. Leader Scott Vincent's tee shot on 18th went way left. At one moment everyone thought it was OB, but fortunately it was safe, but still in trouble sitting down below the cliffs.

Ryo was watching the monitor to see Scott playing safely to get the ball back onto the fairway. Then Ryo wet to the putting green to prepare for possible playoffs. But eventually Scott was able to save par, and Ryo's game was over.

1 stroke costed Ryo to lose his chance for 18th Tour victory, and his 2nd win at Keya GC. Ryo has been away from winning since 2019.
"At the end, that chip-in eagle was necessary, but that is not the only reason that I lost. I felt great to be in contention. But to be honest, I am not so caught up on rankings. Of course, I was watching the leader boards during the game. But I know that there is nothing I could do about other players scores, so I just concentrated on my game. I fought hard today, but I think I am still not there yet. I need to work on many aspect of my game. I have so many regrets over 4 rounds I played here. Especially the Par 5 13th. I pulled my 2nd shot into the roughs. I was planning to get it to the right-side bunker and get a tap-in birdie from there. But it is lack of my techniques that I couldn't pull it off. I am still working on my swing change, and I want to practice more and more."

Ryo's pursue for his new swing has still a long way to go. But he logically analyses his game and finds his way to improve.
