Scott Vincent almost made a double eagle on final 18th, jumped to co-leader after 1R

Scotto Vincent, playing well on his 2nd season in Japan Tour is giving himself a good chance for his 1st Victory. He was already 6 under when he reached his final 18th. He shot his 2nd from 231 yards to the pin from the fairway with 4I, which almost holed in for double eagle. He tapped in for eagle to finish with 8 under 64, became provisional co-leader with Shugo Imahira and Taisei Shimizu.

Scott was also the Zimbabwe representative for Tokyo Olympics.
"That was the best experience of my life. I had the honor to represent my country and was also able to play along with top PGA Tour players, and this was all in Japan. That was awesome!"

Scotto couldn't come back to Japan in 2020 due to the pandemic, but this is his 2 nd season in Japan and he is getting really comfortable here. He even said, "you want to do this interview in Japanese?" in Japanese.

He may not be fluent, but his Japanese is getting really good, and he seems to be talking well on casual conversations. But he said, "Oh no just joking. I need my translator".

"I will prepare well and get lots of rest and be ready for tomorrow."

Scott is obviously saying he is on the hunt for his 1st Victory in Japan this week.
