Shugo Imahira at provisional Top tie after 1R aiming to win on his caddy's birthday week

Shugo Imahira's caddy, who has been on his bag for 6 years now, Kazunori Kashiwagi turned 53 on August 23rd.

Shugo chose Shohei Otani model sunglass as a gift to Kazunori as he loves baseball. But Kazunori was too shy and said, "it's not my style", but Shugo thinks he liked it.

In order to make Kazunori happier, Shugo has being aggressive from 1R. On his front nine at 13th, his 2nd shot from 248 yards with 3U got to 1.5-meters and grabbed himself an eagle.
"From that eagle I got on the roll."

Last week, on the Final Round he took out his 3W and placed 2 putters in his bag. He wanted to try new mallet type putter, but worried that it may turn out bad so kept his ace putter just in case. Eventually his new putter was working great and this week, he is carrying only 1 putter.
"Thanks to this putter, I made 3 to 4 meters with no problem."

Shugo played bogey free round with 1 eagle and 6 birdies to score 64 and became provisional 3-way tie co-leader.

He chose his starting tee box BGM to be "Little Hero", same as he chose back in 2019. In 2019, he succeeded in defending his Order of Merit title.

Kazuki Higa, who is 158cm, 7cm shorter than Shugo is seeking the way to become another "small size Order of Merit Champion".
"Kazuki may be short, but he drives long so he doesn't look short."

Shugo's goal is set from start of this year, to make 3-peat on becoming the Order of Merit Champion. Now he ranks 11th on the Money list, so his main agenda for this week is to win his 1st victory of this year and give a bonus present to his trusty caddy.
