JAPAN PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP by Sato Shokuhin 2021

3 times in the water hazard on the Final Round drained Ryo Ishikawa's chance for the victory

On 16th, ball was at the edge of water
Ryo Ishikawa started out at 4T, 3 shot behind the leader. During today's Final Round, his name as appeared on the top of the leader board plenty of times, but he failed to close the deal.

Ryo ended as 7T, 3 shots away from even having the chance for a playoff.
"I had so many careless mistakes today. I guess my golf for today had no chance to win."

He suffered water hazard 3 times today. First one was at 5th. His 2nd shot got caught in the water and double bogeyed. He then bounced back with 2.5-meter eagle putt on 6th and regained his leader position. He went on to make birdies on 7 and 9, then he also made 7-meter birdie putt on14th, which again made his name on the top of the leader board at that point.

But his second plunge came on Par 5 16th, as his 3rd shot went in, and bogeyed. Then, on 18th, where he was still tied with 4 other players as co-leaders, his tee shot went into the water for the third time today. This led to double bogey and ended his day with misery.

Ryo Ishikawa also has a role as Players' Committees Fan Project Leader and supported in many ways to make this tournament a success. But also, he wanted to make the tournament excited by fighting hard as a player too.
"My confidence is broken up this week. I made one or two careless mistakes every day. I had too many bogeys and double bogeys. I regret very much, but I also did gain what I should work on, so I will continue to improve. I will try to do better next time."
