JAPAN PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP by Sato Shokuhin 2021

"I stopped calculating" says Tadahiro Takayama who continues his A Game from prior week

Tadahiro Takayama is playing very aggressive from 1st Round at the inaugural Japan Players Championship. He played magnificently with 7 birdies and bogey free round of 65, sits as co-leader after Day 1.

The venue, Nishi Nasuno CC has very effective water hazards and elevated greens surface is undulated like potato chips.
"You must place the ball exactly to the point. Even you get it to where you desire you still have to choose wisely. You must really think clever and make smart strategy. I had a big breakfast, but I got hungry on the course using up all of my energy. I had some banana and glucose jelly, but still my brain was tired."

Last week at The Crowns he finished at 3T. If he had made the birdie on final 18th, he could have finished as 2T and that would have been enough to gain his seed. Tadahiro is on the bubble with his special credit guarantee, which requires him to make enough prize money of the 018 season prize money seed borderline. He has 2 tournaments left including this week and he is 830,910-yen short.

"I stopped calculating about making the borderline, but to aim for the win. I had the honor of getting advice from Isao Aoki, JGTO Chairman, and he told me that I must have strong feeling, must play to win. Believe in myself that I am the best player. This advice really helped me and I am now concentrated to play for the victory."

A 43 years old is looking to make a comeback to the Regular Tour for good.
"My sponsor's chairman gave me a call and told me that he was excited to see me get back on my game. So many are cheering for me, so I want to give back by winning. This feeling is leading to play well."
