SMBC Singapore Open 2020

Rio's Bronze Medalists enjoys playing table tennis after a fairly good round of 68

Matt Kuchar play his 2nd Round at Singapore Open with score of 68 to make his total to 8 under. Gusty wind made it difficult for every player on the field and, Matt also had to suffer with a double bogey on 5th. But he bounced right back with consecutive birdies on 6 and 7 holes. On Par 5 7th, he showed a surprising shot from in between the trees which made the fans applaud loudly.

Matt made appearance at 2 of the tournament in Hawaii, but even at the age of 41, he seems to be energetic, no worries about jet lag. He was still full of power to play table tennis after his round today. He changed his outfit to short pants and went right to the club houses entrance lobby where the table tennis was set. Players asked to have the table tennis for recreation.

Matt, with influence from his wife, he plays tennis at professional level, so he is also pretty good with table tennis. He had the "table tennis" on his wish list before coming to Singapore, so he had his racket inside his suitcase.

Organizing staff wanted to make it even more special for Matt, they have asked Iulia Necula, a Romanian professional table tennis player who was the Semi-Finalist of 2008 Beijing Olympics to fight against him. Different sports, but same Olympians gave a great match. What a spectacular show to enlighten the 2020 Olympic Year.

As for Matt making into the 2020 Olympics, Brooks Koepka sits at the top as No.1 on WR, so many USA players are on the top 10 lists, and Matt is now 22nd on WR. Matt glances at the Bronze Medal and says, "Rio was wonderful, great memory. I hope that I could make it to Japan, where golf is loved so much. I want to make a great result here and get myself moving up into that Representative spots."
