SMBC Singapore Open 2020

Gold and Silver Medalists both marked 68 on Day 1 at Singapore Open

The first game of the Olympic Year starts off at Singapore Open, and the Gold and Silver Medalists from 2016 Rio scores the same 68 on Day 1.

"My shot making wasn't as good as I expected but since today was my very first round for the Year 2020, so as long as I scored in 60s was good. I had smart course management and didn't have to suffer real troubles", said Justin Rose.

He also gave a good comment about his playing partner Ryo Ishikawa as, "Ryo is very stylish and has a beautiful swing. His posture holding the putter is great too. He is also very nice guy as a person, so we had a great time together today. He also selected to use his 1W aggressively today, and his driving was really great especially at the beginning of the round."

As for his round, Justin recalled, "I hope I could build up my game day by day. I know I could improve my shot and putts more, so I would like to get it all brushed up each day."
Justin sits at 9th on WR, top rank to be the Representative for his country at 2020 Olympics and ready to defend the title.

As for Silver Medalist Henrik Stenson, this was his first round of the year too. He had 5 birdies and 2 bogeys to score same 68. He made a jump start with 2 straight birdies on starting 10 and 11 holes.
"I think I was able to make a great start on my first round of the year. I lacked stability on my iron shots, but my putts saved me. I am satisfied about my staring round of the year, but I would want to do my best and achieve a great result by coming Sunday afternoon."
