Golf Nippon Series JT Cup 2020

3T after R2 Tomoharu Otsuki already has desirable winning drama planned

Climbing up the ladder to 3T after R2 for Tomoharu Otsuki was a gift he received by conquering the toughest hole of the course. Final 18th is 227 yards Par 3 with slick and deeply undulated "ice frozen potato chips" green.

This 18th has made so many tragic endings for many players in JT Cup history.
"I am being able to play so great on the 18th for past 2 rounds. It is cold and makes the tee shot difficult, but I am hitting great, so I am relieved."

On his R1, he shot with his 7I to 7-meters front of the pin and 2 putt to save par. Today, he shot with 3I to 3-meters to the pin and made a birdie finish.
"On that 18th, should be satisfied with a bogey and if you save par then you should be happy. But today to make birdie on that difficult pin position up on the backward part of the green was fabulous."

Tomoharu scored 65 and rose up to 3T with total of 7 under.
"Although it may be different situation this year, we all aim to be in this prestigious top 30 payer every year. And every player wants to win at this tournament."

"So many dramatic endings happened here. I clearly remember the JT Cup in 2018. Mikumu Horikawa was co-leader with Ryo Ishikawa, Satoshi Kodaira and Jung-Gon Hwang. But Mikumu made 3 putt double-bogey and fell to 5T. He broke down on in tears. That was a tragedy. But I wish to win and break down in tears of joy on Sunday afternoon."
