Players sends their deepest appreciates many who joined on "remote fan participation"

All of the players were really looking forward to meeting with the fans through "remote fan participation" screen set behind the 1st tee box connected live by ZOOM.

Some had a message to the player, some showed their pets, some were enjoying having breakfast, and some applauded sitting comfortably on a sofa, etc. So many unique way to participate, but they were all cheering for the players with warm hearts.

Amongst the fans, Yuta Ikeda saw a familiar face. It was Ikeda Chairman of Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. He was participating from his home but was wearing the tournament's official tie and jacket.
"Very gentleman likely of Chairman Ikeda. I am overwhelmed", Yuta smiled joyously.

Players too could appeal to the fans on the camera placed at the bottom of the screen.
"I wanted to wave to the fans as I saw their faces", said Ryo Ishikawa, as he enjoyed meeting fans through live camera every morning.
"Non-spectator games are becoming the regular thing now. I thought we could have the fans back at the course soon, but since there are big rise in COVID-19 patients, so we still have to keep it without fans. But thanks to the sponsor we were able to connect through screen. Seeing the fans really gives players a lot of motivation and energy. I hope this stays even after the pandemic so that some fans who are not able to come to the course could always join in. This will be the new standard."

Winner Takumi Kayana agrees too.
"Fans on screen was powerful. They all waved their hands and applauded. It gave us lots of motivation. We cannot thank the fans enough for their great participation."
