Round 2 of ZOZO Championship postponed due to Typhoon related torrential rain

Typhoon 21 is moving along the eastern coast of Japan caused torrential rains among the Kanto area from Monday night. Inzai City of Chiba Prefecture, where the tournament course Narashino CC is located was also Level 4 evacuation orders.

PGA Tour has decided to postpone the Round 2 games and the course will be closed on 25th. Many players who gathered to the course in the morning for their start time, turned back to their hotels to be safe.

Play will resume according to the weather and course conditions on Saturday. First tee off time for Round 2 will be 6:30 and the final group is scheduled to start at 8:30. After every group holes out, players will go onto the Round 3 play. There will be no shuffling according to the score for Round 3, but they will exchange the starting holes.

ZOZO Championship will try to complete 72 hole tournament. On Saturday, players will continue to play until the sunset. If holes are left over. They will resume on Sunday morning. As for Final Round, if few holes from Round 3 remains on Sunday, the groupings will be shuffled according to the leader board.

PGA TOUR Rules Official Gary Young came to the Media Center to announce this news added, "Sunday also has rain forecast, but it should not be bad as today. We hope to finish the tournament on Sunday. If regulation play finishes by 16:00 on Sunday, there will be time for playoff".

US PGA and Japan Tour co-sanctioned ZOZO Championship is very first and historical tournament for Japanese golf fans. There were more than 18000 spectators on the course from Round 1. Unfortunately, the Round 2 was postponed, every member of the tournament, especially the players are waiting to perform greater golf when the tournament resumes tomorrow.
