Panasonic Open Golf Championship 2019

Super Tough 40's Wei-Chih Lu from Taiwan sits as co-leader for Day 1 at "Panasonic Open"

This week's "Panasonic Open" is co-sanctioned by Japan and Asian Tour, and the field is colorful with many talented International players. Wei-Chih Lu from Taiwan was one of those talented International player who made a marvelous 7 birdie 1 bogey round of 65 and became co-leader on Day 1.

Wei-Chih Lu used to play in the Japan Tour in 2011 season, and his best finish during that season was 7th at Toshin Golf Tournament in Lake Wood.

This was his first time to play in Higashi Hirono GC, but he says, "I have played well in Japan before and those good memories gives me confidence and play well."

Wei-Chih Lu had a very tough year also in 2011 as he found a tumor in his brain and had to go through a surgery. He couldn't play at all in year 2012 and took him a while to make a comeback. But thankfully in 2016, he made a great comeback victory at his home country hosted tournament, "Mercury Masters" to make his 4th tournament win.

If he wins this week on this co-sanctioned event, he will get the chance to play again in Japan Tour. Wei-Chih Lu is really eager to get back to where he has left off in 2011.
