Shigeo Nagashima Invitational SEGASAMMY Cup Golf Tournament 2019

Prom Meesawat becomes co-leader of Round 1 along with Ryo Ishikawa

Prom Meesawat from Thailand who used to play regularly in Japan Tour until 2009 has made a great round at Shigeo Nagashima Invitational SEGASAMMY Cup Golf Tournament today and finished as a co-leader sharing the spot with Ryo Ishikawa.

After round interviews
Q. You had a bogey free great round today, what was the key?
A. I had good shots and I also had great putting today. I only had 10 putts on the first 9 holes, it was amazingly great. I was in last group starting at 1 pm, so the wind was getting really strong, so it was very tough condition. I decided to lay up on the 14th tee shot and selected PW for my second shot. I ended up 9 meters short, but I holed it from there. It was tough round, but my great putting saved the day.

Q. You are co-leader for the Round 1, how do you feel?
A. I t's only Round 1, so I just want to enjoy the tournament, enjoy Hokkaido.

Q. You like Hokkaido?
A. Yes, very much so. I think the last time I visited was in 2007 during my Japan Tour days. I think I finished in top group, so I guess this course suites me.

Q. Your goal for this week?
A. Goal? I just want to enjoy. I would like to play well, but I want to concentrate on one and each shot.
