Dunlop Phoenix Tournament 2019

Ryo Ishikawa's birdie start on the Final Rd became a "rain check"

After 2 hours of delay, Final Round has started but it was called suspended due to thunderstorm after 4 group from OUT and 3 group form IN has made their way onto the course. Eventually the game was cancelled afterwards.

Ryo Ishikawa started out at total 1 over par, 34T. He made a birdie start on 10th, by hitting his 2nd shot to 6-meter by 5I from the fairway. Then he had another 4-meter birdie chance on Par 3 11th, but the play was called suspended at that moment.

Ryo's score for the 1R was 74, then 73 for 2R. Then he had bogey free 4 under on 3R and seemed to be getting his game back. It was very regretful to him that the tournament was cancelled since he was getting his good feelings back.
"There is nothing we could do about the weather issues. It's too bad, but we must accept it. But I am glad that I was able to practice and hit 4 good shots on the course. I have gained a lot from the 2 holes I played today."

There are only 2 more tournaments remaining in this season, with both winner's prize being 40 million yen. Ryo Ishikawa sit at 5th position on the Money Rankings, 69 million yen difference from the No.1 Shugo Imahira. It seems to be pretty difficult to catch Shugo with this much of deficit.
"I know it seems quite impossible, but next week is my long time sponsor Casio's event. So, I will try my very best and aim to win."
