Wen-Chong Liang jumps up to 3rd tie position with bogey free 67

Wen-Chong Liang finished his Round 2 with bogey free 67 and jumped up to tie for 3rd with 8 under total. The only tough moment for today was at 6th, where he had 5-meter par putt, but he holed it with no problem.
"There was no wind compared to yesterday and it was great weather too. That was the best part of today which lead to good shots and great putts. I am glad to play so well in my favorite Hokkaido."

In the beginning of this season, Wen-Chong Liang was suffering back pain and he has been missing the cutline 4 tournaments in a row since May. He chose to WD from July's PGA Championship and went back to his home country China to get cured.

His first win on Japan Tour was at 2015 JGTO Tour Championship and has earned 5-year seed, which ends this season.
"I need to get better and play better to be able to play next season."

Wen-Chong Liang is now 41 years old.
"But on Japan Tour, over 50 Toru Taniguchi and Taichi Teshima are still doing great on regular Tour, and that gives me hope. My back is fine now."

As Wen-Chong Liang said, he loves Hokkaido and also enjoys the local dishes. He has won the European and Asian co-sanctioned "Singapore Masters" as the first Chinese professional, and also became the Asian Tour's Order of Merit champion. His gentlemanly attitude is highly valued and Wen-Chong Liang has become an "R&A" ambassador too.

He also praises the tournament sponsor ANA.
"Their service is top class and I enjoy the delicious meal too."

Wen-Chong Liang aims to grab his 3rd victory to regain his confidence to fly around the world tour again.
