Newly Tour member Tomoyo Ikemura makes a splendid start at the tough Sobu CC

As they say, "the early bird gets the worm", 23 years old newest seeded member to the tour got the Day 1 going in a great start. He started out in the 1st group on Day 1, early was the key since the Sobu CC is known for the tough wind, but it was light breeze in the early mornings, which helped Tomoyo to card in with 3 under par for today.

On his back nine 3rd hole, he 3 putted for a bogey. But he told himself that "everybody makes bogeys, I have fewer than others". This positive thought encouraged him to keep his game together and was able to get 4 birdies to score 68.

This morning he started out at 6:40am, so he had to wake up at 4am. He got prepared in 30 minutes, ate 2 onigiris (rice balls) in the car, and got to the course 1 hour and 30 minutes before his start.

He got in bed at 9pm yesterday to be ready, and it was worth it.
"I want to keep today's good momentum for tomorrow and day after tomorrow as well."

Tomoyo is member for the new JGTO's "Golf FAN Project", and in the off season he joined many events with the fans. From that effort, he now has more than 1000 followers on his Instagram.

He finished his round around noon today and his tee time tomorrow is in the afternoon.
"I can bed in until 8am tomorrow morning so, I have plenty of time today. Since this weekend is Mother's Day, so I might have time to go for shopping today."

The best present he could get for his mother is the one with big V.
