Toru Taniguchi makes the first "Hole-in-one" of the Reiwa Era, BUT

51 years old Toru Taniguchi grabbed a glorious title but failed to make the cutline. He has become the first player to do "Hole-in-one" in the Reiwa Era, but his tournament ended on Day 2.
"I did okay today, but my first round was too bad."
Toru was very disappointed that he missed the cut. He started at 8 over par and waited for his chance to recover. That chance, miracle shot came at the Par 3 12th. His tee shot went straight to the pin, but there was only 1 spectator by the green. After the ball went down, that spectator gave a praise, but Toru never thought that it had landed on the bottom of the cup. He found out that he has made the "hole-in-one" when he got to the green and found the ball in the cup.

The pin position for the day was on the top of the 2 leveled green. He himself was amazed to see it happen. He received 300,000 prize money from the Kansai Television as an award, but his happy feelings soon faded away.

He got close to the cutline thanks to that "hole-in-one", but the 3 putted for double bogey at 13th put him away. He was at 6 under total on the final 18th with a birdie try but couldn't make it.
"Even with the miraculous hole-in-one, I missed the cut. Too bad, I did try though. The first Hole-in-one for the Reiwa Era is under my name, but I am so disappointed."

Toru placed him name under a history but left the course with full of regrets.
