Dunlop Phoenix Tournament 2018

Brooks Koepka Press Conference part 2

Q. Obviously you had great year, 2 Major wins and all. What is the key to maintaining your top shape throughout the season?
A. For me it's just to stay healthy. If I can play the event that I am supposed to play. The ones that I plan on that year, I will be just fine. I am learning more and more about my golf game. How to handle it and what makes me tip. More I tee up than sitting on the sidelines, better off for me.

Q. You are the first player to play this tournament as No.1 Player since Tiger Woods did. Even Tiger couldn't accomplish the 3 in a row. How do you feel about it?
A. I don't know. I hope after this week the Jumbo is not the only one to win 3 in a row. That's what I am here to do. I am here to compete and win. That's the goal right now. Just got to get off at good start tomorrow. Put myself in good spot and don't shoot you out of it on the first day. I know this golf course, I can make a lot of birdies around here. As long as I can avoid hitting in trees and making silly mistakes, I should hopefully break my own record of 21 under par.

Q. Hideki Matsuyama did not play well last week, not seems to be in his top condition. But do you consider him as tough to beat?
A. Yeah, I would say, looking on the World Rankings he is the second highest guy here. So, anybody here if they get hot has the chance to win. If Hideki gets hot, he's going to have a good chance to win. But I am just going keep doing what I am doing. I am not really concerned about anybody else or how they are playing. I feel like if I play my best, I don't think anyone can beat me.
