Fortinet Players Cup To Make Debut on 2025 JGTO Schedule
The Japan Golf Tour Players Association, in collaboration with the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO), is proud to announce the launch of a new official tournament—the Fortinet Players Cup—set to take place from October 30 to November 2, 2025, at the prestigious Narita Hills Country Club in Chiba Prefecture.
With a total prize fund of ¥100,000,000, the Fortinet Players Cup will be the second event this season to be hosted by the Players Association, following the successful introduction of the JPC Sato Shokuhin tournament earlier in the year.
This addition reinforces the association’s ongoing commitment to creating more competitive opportunities for its members while enhancing the overall tour experience for players and fans alike.
The event is made possible with the generous support of Fortinet Japan LLC, serving as the tournament’s special sponsor. Known globally for its leadership in cybersecurity solutions, Fortinet’s entry into the professional golf space marks an exciting collaboration between sport and innovation.
JGTO Vice Chairman Masahiro Kuramoto, said: “We are happy to be able to announce a new tournament, and the Players' Association will be the main player in creating the tournament.
“The story goes that the players were looking for a sponsor with the hope of making it into a major-like tournament in the future, and Fortinet stepped up to help. We are very happy that we were able to announce it today for the first time with so much support. Thank you very much."
Hideto Tanihara, Players' Association Chairman, added: “This tournament is the second tournament organised by the Players' Association after the Japan Players Championship by Sato Foods.
“With the backing of a global company like Fortinet, we hope to show fans the intense, serious competition that only male professionals can have, and to grow it into a tournament that makes people glad they participated and glad they watched, along with various projects that utilise our unprecedented network.”
Ends.
