BMW boost for Japan Golf Tour Championship

BMW Japan Corp. has come on board as the new title sponsor for the Japan Golf Tour Championship, which will be held from

June 2-June 5 at the Shishido Hills Country Club’s West Course in Ibaraki Prefecture.

 

The ¥150,000,000 tournament will be renamed as BMW Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup.

 

Players have plenty to play as it is not only that the five-year JGTO membership is at stake, the winner will also get to get to play in

the DP World Tour’s (European Tour) BMW International Open.

 

The 2,000,000 tournament is slated for June 23-26 at the Golfclub Munchen Eichenried in Munich, Germany.

 

Isao Aoki, Chairman of the Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) said: "I am really happy to be able to deliver such big news to

everyone ahead of the JGTO’s season-opening tournament."

 

This tournament, which was incepted in 2000, a year after the formation of JGTO, is the flagship tournament of our organization.

 

This year marks 19 times in a row of the event which will be staged at the Shishido Hills Country Club West Course in Ibaraki

Prefecture.”
