Chan Kim Interview at Shishido Hills : on Majors and his goal for this season

Q. You will be going to British Open, any thoughts about it?
A. It feels nice because I got to play in both Majors in 2017 and be able to do that again is just a great feeling to get back out there.

Q. Coming back from your injury it seems almost like a miracle?
A. Luckily it wasn't too big of an injury. It was more muscle strains and tightness. I did go to probably 8 doctors and only 1 of them told me that I needed surgery. Luckily the last doctor that I saw told me all I had to do is stretch. I am just doing movement one way too much, so he told me to go the other way and its been lot better.

Q. Any plans for the Royal Portrush?
A. I haven't done any research on that course yet. I will get to that shortly. Now my main focus in on US Open so. After the US Open, I will try and get to learn on Portrush.

Q. Other than the big Majors, is there any other goals for this year?
A. I would like to win this year. I was obviously close at Mizuno. I feel like my game is slowly coming back around. The first couple of tournaments were tough but. It so nice to be back out here and be competitive. So, I am really looking forward to it.

Q. How about the ZOZO Championship?
A. That's a big one. If I can get into that, it's huge. That's why I am trying to play as many events as I can. So that I can get my money ranking up. That will be another great opportunity.

Q. Any other goals?
A. Honestly my goal was to try and get into at least 1 Major. Hopefully that I can get my World Ranking points up to play WGC events. Obviously ZOZO and opportunity to play in JT Cup. Those are my main goals.

Q. If you win the Majors, will you be going back to USPGA Tour?
A. That's tough question. I really like playing out here so, even I do end up winning the Major, I am going to try coming back here for some tournaments as well. So main tour will be out there but I'll love to come back and at least play few event here.
