Bridgestone Open 2018

Ryo Ishikawa praises Junior Journalists

On Oct.17 Wednesday, the Bridgestone Open Tournament course was stormed by local elementary school students, who came on the field trip to see in and out of the" Professional Tournament". They felt the top players atmosphere thru seeing practice rounds, TV broadcast center, Press center and so forth. But the best was yet to come!
Kids were able to do a "realistic" press conference with their Super Star, the current Players Chairman, Ryo Ishikawa.

Ryo was amazed how great these kids were. Ryo noted "Kouta Hirano, 5th grader was ever best host of the press conference, may be better than the real Media. "
Kids had so many good questions, pure and simple, some of them made Ryo burst in laugher.
Some questions that real Media would never be able to ask!

Q. What is your hobby?
A. Never been asked that before on press conferences, but I guess sports overall. I love golf, but I like football, swimming, table tennis, running. I also like to see volleyball.
Q. What do you do on day offs?
A. I like fashion, so I go shopping and also dine out.
Q. Which days do you practice?
A. I practice every day. I like to practice. I get anxious when I skip. I go out for shopping and dine on my days off, but I practice before I go out. There is probably 5 or 6 day out of whole year that I don't practice at all.

One really good question that Ryo liked was
Q. Which was the best Tournament?
A. Chunichi Crowns on 2010, where I marked "58 "which is my best score and won the tournament. It's has been 8 years since, and I still can't beat the score. My goal it to break that record.

Ryo concluded the conference by sending a warm and wishful thoughts to the astonishing "Press".
"If you really want to accomplish something, be serious about it and keep on practicing. I think you were able to see many sides of the tournaments today. So many people and efforts are carried out to make these tournaments a success. Even other than becoming a golfer, if there was anything that you got interested through todays field trip, please try to aim for it. "
