SMBC Singapore Open 2019

Matthew Fitzpatrick clings onto the "1 behind the leader" with a birdie finish

Matthew laid belly down on the green to read his line on the 18th green. It was minutes before the sunset and that was only way to see the line, but it was worth it. He birdied the hole and finished only 1 behind the leader Yoshinori Fujimoto.

Matthew played leftover holes from Round 2 and full Round 3 today.
"Finally, every group was able to hole out today, but with the wind and so many holes to play, it was really tough today."

Even through the bad weather conditions and play suspensions, Matthew played bogey-free until his 10th hole on Round 3.
"Too bad that I made my first bogey, but I was able to keep my concentration and made a comeback right after."
As he recalled, he made 4 more birdies and kept himself in the good position.

"My goal for tomorrow is to beat last year's winning score by Sergio."
Matthew is only 2 strokes away. Wait and see what kind of victory plan he has in mind for tomorrow!
