Japan PGA Championship 2021

Keiichiro Fukabori showed his "two-way player" talent on weekend and still finished in Top 10

Keiichiro Fukabori was playing on the field and at the same time doing analyst for the TV broadcasting on weekends, but still he managed to finish 7 under, at 9T. This is his first Top 10 finish in 6 years.

Keiichiro made cutline at 54T, just on the bubble borderline, but he showed his charisma by scoring 67 on R3. Then he concluded his tournament with 68 on Sunday to make great ending.
"I have not been able to play like this for a while."

52 years old was very cheerful about his accomplishment. Now his battling stage has shifted to Senior Tour, but he received the invitation from the Nikko CC, the venue and this was his 3rd challenge on the Regular Tour this season.
"I wanted to send my gratitude to the course with my result. I took special time before this tournament to get ready. For 2 weeks, I worked on making my body move smoothly. As for putter, I adjusted my style not to have my left elbow to be too stiff. These efforts worked."

His last Top 10 finish was back in 2015 at RIZAP KBC Augusta.
"This tournament result means more than the score to me. After I won the Japan Open held here on Nikko CC in 2003 totally changed my life. On my R2, 2nd shot on 6th directly found the cup. I think I am blessed here. I have luck and my game suites this course, I guess."

After his satisfying round, he jumped into the broad cast booth right next to his best friend Shigeki Maruyama and showed his talent as an analyst. It was busy weekend for Keiichiro, but it was all worth it. He made another great memory at Nikko CC.
