The Crowns 2021

Tadahiro Takayama a bit short for the "borderline" but thankful for finishing 3T at The Crowns

Tadahiro Takayama faced the final 18th, 1 shot behind 2nd place. He had 4-meter birdie chance to become tie but failed to do so and literary broke down on his knees.
"I knew if I had made that birdie and become 2T, I would had made the borderline."

Tadahiro is on the bubble with his special credit guarantee, which requires him to make enough prize money within remaining 3 tournaments in order to get over the 2018 season prize money seed borderline. The Crowns being reduced to 54-hole as the Day 1 was washed out, prize money being counted for the Money Rankings will be 75%. 3T finish provided Tadahiro to achieve 4,350,000-yen, but he is 830,000-yen short for the borderline.

"I am still not good enough."
Tadahiro showed his depressed body language on the 18th green.

He started out as co-leader in 5-way tie. He had a great birdie opportunity at Par 5 2nd but missed it.
"That was my big chance, but I blew it and got me nervous. After that I just perform well. Mu shots were really bad under the tough conditions."

Tadahiro spent 25 years in Nagoya City, which is this week's tournament home city.
"I wanted to show that I will hang on until the very end and fight, to give back some gratitude to my fans. I only have 2 more exemptions left, but I will try my best. I am happy that I was able to make my best finish at Wago. I am grateful that I was able to be in this tournament. I couldn't have done it without so many of the supports I received. So, I should say this 3T finish was powered my feeling for appreciation."
