Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup Shishido Hills 2021

Players Committee Board Meetings held at Shishido Hills Country Club

3rd Board meeting of the Players Committee of this year was held at Shishido Hills Country Club on June 1st, prior to the start of the Major tournament, Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup Shishido Hills from June 3rd.

Players Chairman Ryuko Tokimatsu and other members of the Committee joined for the meeting and reported on state of progress regarding the Players Committee hosting event "Abema TV Tour Japan Players Championship Challenge" achievement of the sponsors and other details.

This week's tournament is a Major, Japan Golf Tour Championship Mori Building Cup Shishido Hills, which offers 5 years seed to the winner, and has started in year 2000, 1 year after JGTO was founded. The object of the JGTO is "to discover and nurture players to become world class". Japan Golf Tour Championship has been the center stage for the JGTO's efforts, but unfortunately the 20th Anniversary tournament had to be cancelled due to pandemic last year.

On the 21st year, 129 players including Defending Champion Mikumu Horikawa has entered. Also renewed exemption status allowed 3 amateurs to be in the field.

Ren Yonezawa (Tohoku Fukushi University) will be in the same group as Tomoyo Ikemura and Yuki Inamori for the first 2 rounds.

Taiga Sugihara (Tohoku Fukushi University) will be in the same groups as Naoyuki Kataoka who won his first victory at the JPC by Sato Shokuhin in May, and Ryo Ishikawa.

Keita Nakajima (Nippon Taiiku Unicersity) will be in the same group with 2 years in a row Order of merit Champion Shugo Imahira and Defending Champion Mikumu Horikawa.

All of the players will start off from 1st tee, and it will be one way.
