JGTO aims at spreading and promoting golf through professional golf tournaments.
This competitive sport will grow only if this professional sport exhibits more prosperity. To revitalize the Japanese golfing arena, tour players must introduce the spirit of golf through their best skills and play an exciting game to attract its' spectators.
JGTO aims to nurture tour players that may be fully recognized by the international community.
At the World Cup of December 2002, the Japanese representative pair - Toshimitsu Izawa and Shigeki Maruyama- marked a victory of 45 years. Golf fans are waiting for the emergence of such tour players that will be active in the international limelight. Professional sports will maintain its attention only by responding to such anticipation of fans.
JGTO considers its registered tour player members as "fortune".
It is said that the current golfing population in Japan is roughly 10 million, meaning one out of ten enjoy golfing. A group of masters out of this total population formulate the "Japan Golf Tour". Tour members are ones that have gone further with their skills and reached the summit within this group.
JGTO hopes to value communicating the joy of golfing to children.
Professional sports must always maintain its presence as a vehicle to present children with a dream. We hope to nurture children that aspire becoming professional tour golfers in the future. This we shall achieve by filling the tournament venue with children smiling big after having enjoyed the joys of golfing first hand.
