International Federation of PGA Tours

JGTO is a member of International Federation of PGA Tours

The International Federation of PGA Tours was formed in 1996 by golf's five world governing bodies – the European Tour, Japan Golf Tour Organization, PGA TOUR, PGA Tour of Australasia and Sunshine Tour (South Africa). Asian Tour became the sixth member in 1999, and since then, the Federation has been growing its membership.

With the purpose of providing a forum for the world's professional golf organizations to discuss issues of mutual importance and, together, develop and promote the game of golf on a global basis, the Federation has been playing a key role in conducting the World Golf Championships and operating the Official World Golf Rankings.

As one of the founding member of the Federation, we will continue to contribute to the strengthening the global partnership.

The era of “One World”

Partnership with Asian countries is very important for further development of Japan Golf Tour.

In December 2002, we conducted the Asia Japan Okinawa Open as the first co-sanctioned event between Japan Golf Tour and Asian Tour, which was followed by other co-sanctioned team events such as Dynasty Cup (Japan vs Asia), Japan-Korea Matches, and The Royal Trophy (Europe vs Asia).

In 2008, Japan Golf Tour traveled outside the country for the first time and conducted Pine Valley Beijing Open as a tri-sanctioned event with Asian Tour and China Golf Association. Asia-Pacific Panasonic Open started in the same year as another co-sanctioned event between Japan and Asia.

In the era of “One World”, golf tours around the world have come so close together. We will deepen and strengthen the relationship not only with Asia, but also with Europe and U.S. for the further growth of the game.
