ABOUT JGTO – HOW TO BECOME A TOUR PLAYER

As we widely open the door in search for truly talented players,
why not take your first step as a future star?

In order to gain playing privileges on the Japan Golf Tour (the Tour Tournaments or the AbemaTV TOUR), players must first participate in the "Japan Golf Tour Qualifying Tournament (QT)" that is held annually in four stages (the first, second, third and final stages).

Leading finishers in the Final QT (Final stage) will earn their positions on the eligibility rankings for the Tour Tournaments and the AbemaTV TOUR in the following season.

There have been number of players, such as Hidemasa Hoshino, Hideto Tanihara, Tomohiro Kondo, Yuta Ikeda, Yoshinori Fujimoto, Bae Sang-Moon and Kim Kyung-Tae who have achieved great successes on the Tour after having earned their tour cards through the Final QT.

Players who have advanced to the 2nd QT or later stages will be referred to as "tour players" for the following season. They will earn their positions on the QT rankings and may have opportunities to participate in the Tour Tournaments and/or the AbemaTV TOUR through sponsor exemption or other eligibility criteria.

Please see "Qualifying Tournament Guideline" to find out which stage you are eligible to enter, as each stage of the Qualifying Tournament (QT) has different eligibility criteria.
